Sunday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Writer: Bret SanorBret Sanor

Good morning! Sometimes we look at things like compassion, kindness, humility and patience as spiritual gifts when really they are attributes of self-discipline. There is an expected type of behavior for those who belong to God. How are you dressed?

This verse tells us to put on these traits. So, are you dressed in compassion, kindness, humility and patience? You have to choose gentleness and mercy. You have to choose humility. It is through surrender to Jesus that we find them. Are you looking for them?

When I look for something to wear, I don't look in the fridge or my pantry. I look in my dresser or closet because that's where the clothes are. If you are looking within yourself to find these traits, you will be like looking for clothes in the kitchen. You have to go where the clothes are.

You have to go to Jesus who clothes us with robes of righteousness and washes us clean with the word. In spending time with Him, is where we find the things we should put on that reveals who He is to the world. He never runs out, so we can continually go to Him when we need a refuel. Remember who you belong to and that He supplies all your needs according to His riches in glory so you will always have what it takes to make a great day!
