Sunday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! The gospel is the good news for a reason. God could have judged the world and destroyed everyone and everything in it permanently because of sin. But His mercy is great and His love is pure. He chose another way.

Jesus is that way. He poured out His wrath on Jesus, so they we could have eternal life through faith in Him. Our best doesn't measure up. All have sinned and fallen short of the standard. But God in His grace has sent Jesus to pay the penalty for us.

It is not because of our good works or our own merits. It is because of His great mercy and for His pleasure that He has given us salvation. He calls us to serve in His kingdom and bring others into the fold. What a privilege to know and serve Him! Be thankful for this great gift as you make a great day!
