Good morning! God's love was demonstrated to us through Christ's death. Seems like a strange way to show love, but sin is costly. So, we not only see God's love, but the cost of sin through Jesus' death on a cross.
In order to make us righteous, a payment had to be made to satisfy the cost of sin. A righteous Man (Jesus) paid that price with His own life. An unfair exchange, the righteous for the unrighteous, we gained eternal life through Christ's death.
While we were still in our sin and going our own way, Christ died for us. Through Him, we receive forgiveness, atonement and redemption that lead to eternal life. He knew we could never cleanse ourselves of sin. No animal sacrifice would eternally cover our sin.
He restored our relationship through Jesus to reconcile us to Himself that we may obtain righteousness through Christ by treating Him how we deserved to be treated for our sin. In turn, we are treated like sons and daughters because of Jesus' perfect sacrifice. Think on this today and praise God for His loving kindness towards us as you make a great day!
