Sunday's Devotional - 4/12/2026

Good morning! A simple, but profound truth. This simple verse tells us what we deserve and what God offers in place of that. Jesus makes all the difference. Do you believe that?

In the Old Testament, God dealt very harshly with sin. He often made death a reality to those who sinned against Him. In a way, Jesus was like God's anger management because He suffered the wrath of God for all sin.

God is just, so death is the punishment for sin. But God is also merciful, kind, loving and gracious. Jesus is the grace of God that has appeared to all men so we are all without excuse. We have all sinned so that makes us workers of iniquity. Work earns wages. The work we did in sin is paid in death.

But, the work Jesus did was in righteousness. That is the gift of God to us that when we believe in Jesus, turn from our sin and follow Him, we receive eternal life. We get the reward of Jesus' labor getting what we don't deserve for taking our punishment He didn't deserve. Thank Him for this marvelous gift as you think on this and make a great day!
