Saturday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! It is always amazing to me how fast people move on from such big holidays. I saw in a store Valentine's Day gifts up while we hadn't even hit Christmas, let alone January! Jesus is such a big deal, that it's hard to move on past Him so easily.

I mean, we now tell time by His birth. We have many church calendar days dedicated to His life, death, resurrection, ascension and the sending of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. Sometimes, I think we rush past important things just to get to the next thing and miss a whole lot of living in the middle.

The Bible says, "Life is but a mist; a vapor and then it's gone." (James 4:14) Take time to make memories and enjoy the here and now moments that God is giving you each day. One day, you will blink and life will have past you by and you will wonder, "where did it all go?"

I know Christmas is past, but the impact has not. Enjoy Christmas for more than a day or a season. Let the birth of Christ remind you that God loves you so much, that He would send Jesus to pay the penalty for your sin so that by believing in Him, you can have eternal life. Ponder these things in your heart as you make a great day!
