Saturday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! Today, I think about the song, "What Child Is This?" in response to this verse. An ordinary child would not bring such controversy, but this was no ordinary child. It was the Son of God coming to earth in accordance with the prophetic words He spoke through the prophets.

The rulers of the day studied the Scriptures so they would know when this baby would come as a king. They didn't know it would not be as an earthly ruler in His first advent so they felt threatened by this baby. Imagine being so insecure that a baby threatens you...

But He was not just a baby, but God in the flesh. Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. He could be all those things because He is the Son of God and is God at the same time. The second person on the Trinity to come make peace between us and God. His love is everlasting and overwhelming. Do you know Him?

Call upon His name and let His love fill your heart today. Let Him fill you for more than a moment or a season. Let Him fill you with the hope of eternity so that in everything, everyday, you can make a great day!
