Good morning! To be an imitator of God also means to love others like you love yourself. In fact, this is one of the greatest commandments. To love God above all else with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and to love others as yourself. Jesus said there's no greater commands than these.
Jesus came to serve, not to be served and to give His life as a ransom for many. He treated others better than they treated Him. He chose mercy, compassion and grace. He brought others up out of their despair and sinfulness. He truly embodied self-sacrifice and self-less love.
He looked out for the interest of the whole world at great personal cost. He was entirely innocent, yet was charged, tried and sentenced to death on a cross as if He was the worst sinner ever to live. He literally gave it all, His very life, to give us the opportunity to be forgiven, saved and have eternal life.
Look to Christ as the ultimate example of how to treat others. Humble yourself to serve others, even those who hate you and make fun of you. That's what Jesus did. He forgave instead of retaliate. He wanted even His enemies to receive salvation. What a Savior! Think about this and put this into practice as you make a great day!
