Good morning! In Romans 7, the Apostle Paul talks about sin and the law and our inability to keep the law. Sin lives in us since the fall of mankind. The law is a mirror to show us our sin and our need for a Savior. Without that, we have no hope of escaping judgment.
Our Savior is Jesus, who is outside of sin because He never sinned, but took on sin that He may be treated as the worst of sinners in order to pay the penalty for sin that we who believe, may go free and be forgiven. Paul talks about his own inability to stop sinning.
He says the thing he wants to do (righteousness), evades him but the thing he hates doing (sinning), is what he ends up doing. He says apart from Christ, he has no hope of ever pleasing God. But because of Jesus, we therefore now have no condemnation. We no longer have to walk according to the sinfulness of our fleshly nature.
We walk now in the Spirit with Christ. We have a new life in Him without condemnation. We have forgiveness and redemption, being freed from the law of sin and death, because we no longer live under the law of sin and death. We live in Christ. So, we need not fear judgment for sin, because it has been fulfilled in Jesus. But you have to be in Him in order to escape that judgment. Otherwise, your sin and guilt remains. Be free in Christ as you make a great day!
