Good morning! Today is known as Palm Sunday and is the start of what we call Holy Week. It is the week leading up to Resurrection Day or Easter, as it has been called. This verse is Jesus fulfilling a prophesy about him found in Zechariah 9:9.

He came in riding on a donkey colt into Jerusalem as a king would enter in a procession. He didn't come on a prized horse and chariot. He came as a humble man on a lowly beast of burden. Those who knew the Scriptures and the customs of the entrance of a king recognized the moment.

How often we get busy and overlook the moment the King enters our lives. We need to be aware of those moments and take the time to welcome Him as the King of kings. Do you take the time to acknowledge Jesus when He shows up? Do you praise Him when He does or do you get frustrated by the interruption?

Your response to Jesus reveals the posture of your heart. How are you responding? Would He feel welcomed by it or rejected? The Bible says we who believe are oaks of righteousness (Isaiah 61:3). Have you laid down your branches in worship to welcome the King? Have you cried out, "Hosanna!" in praise or will you let some other tree made of wood cry out instead? (Isaiah 55:12) Give Him the praise due to His name and make a joyful noise in worship to Him as you make way for the King as you make a great day!
