Monday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! God's message hasn't changed. It has always been about Him loving us from the beginning, us loving Him for His goodness and for us to love one another as we have been loved by Him. Jesus didn't invent this, it was there from the start.

Too often, people get hung up on the laws of the Old Testament and think it was just a bunch of rules of what to do and not to do. But the spirit behind the law was love. God loved us even in our sinfulness. He gave a us a law to keep us from hurting one another and ourselves. He did it to show us the right way to live so we would honor the gift of life.

Six of the Ten Commandments are about how to love your neighbor as yourself and how to treat others. Let His love for you fill your heart to love even those who hate you. It's easy to hate those who hate you, but we are to love them like Christ loves them and us. It isn't easy, but His love makes it possible. Treat each other with dignity and respect. In doing so, you will honor God and make a great day!
