Good morning! Multiple times, we see the lineage of Jesus mentioned to point us to the right person and to recognize Him when He came. Yet, despite all this, people still refused to see what was plain as day right in front of them. The Word was made flesh and dwelt among them.
Jesus gave us indications of what it would be like when He returns again, yet so many people deny His second advent. I think conviction is hard for people to deal with when they know they are stuck in sin. When they refuse to repent, they harden their hearts. No matter what ethnicity, nationality, race or background, we all need Jesus.
Without Jesus, there is no hope for salvation, eternal life or the glorious resting place of heaven. Are you seeking Jesus in this season or chasing all the things of the season? It's not wrong to give or receive gifts, but Christmas is not all about the gifts we give or receive from others. It's all about Jesus, the greatest gift ever given and the greatest story ever told.
It's very easy to get caught up in festivities of the season and lose focus of the Wonderful, Counselor, Prince of Peace, Everlasting Father, Immanuel, Jesus the Christ. Take time to refocus and seek the banner that is the standard that God raised up against the evil of this world. Let Him bring you peace, hope, love and joy that lasts beyond a season. Then each day you will have all you need to make a great day!
