Monday's Verse of the Day Devotional

ree

Good morning! I remember when I was just a child, I would be doing something adventurous and get myself into trouble. Sometimes, it was getting my hand stuck under the washer trying to get my toy car out or slipping on some ice in my hurried way out the door.

I would cry out for help and my dad would be there in a flash almost like a superhero to rescue me. He'd lift the washer off my hand or catch my when I was about to fall. He would hold me up until I was steady and make sure I was alright. He'd also lecture me a bit to calm me down and teach me how to avoid that happening again. Even as I got older, he still helped me in times of great struggle.

Dad was a portrait of this verse and how God does that for us, especially in the spiritual realm. When we are about to slip into temptation, He comes in with mercy and grace to keep us from falling. He lifts us up out of the hopelessness of worry and assures us of His provision and protection. Have you called out to Him for help? Have you let Him give you a good "talking to" for anxiety? Call on Him, let Him calm you, help you and delight your soul so you can go forward and make a great day!
