Monday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! Trying to clean up your life before you come to Jesus is like dressing a pig for a beauty contest when it's fresh out of the sty. It doesn't make much sense. No, I'm not saying anyone is a pig, it is just an analogy that gives a visual to the point.

You can't clean yourself up and it doesn't make you any more acceptable to Jesus if you could. God didn't wait for man to find a way to keep the law perfectly. He sent Jesus to do it because He knew none of us ever could.

All have sinned and fallen short of God's standard. Jeremiah 2:22 says, "Although you wash with lye and use an abundance of soap, the stain of your guilt is still before Me,” declares the Lord GOD." That's why we trust in Jesus because it is only by His blood shed on the cross that our sins are wiped clean.

It is God's immense love for us that His merciful grace was shown to us in our great need for forgiveness. It is only through Jesus, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God, that we have eternal life. Praise Him for this great miracle of love as you make a great day!
