Monday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! Punishment is meant to deter you from doing wrong behavior. I remember being a kid and doing things I shouldn't have. There were measures of discipline for it and it taught me my decisions had consequences.

It was out of love that I was punished for my bad behavior to correct me and put me on a path of right-living. God's love is shown through the cross when Christ, who had never sinned, hung on the cross as if He was the worst of sinners.

He died for the wages of sin. He rose from the dead to show us the reward of righteousness. We have to choose to do what is right or suffer the consequences for our unrepentant sin. Death is the payment for sin, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ. Choose wisely! May you understand the weight of sin and choose life every day in every moment as you make a great day!
