Monday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! It's so easy to think we know everything we need to know about a situation. It's so easy to rely on what we have learned, our experience, our gut or instinct without praying about it or reading the word to see what God says about it.

How often do you neglect God in a matter and just do it yourself? It's hard to trust God whom you can't rather than all the evidence and things you can see. But trust is what makes faith real. If we say we love God, trust Him and want Him to be our Lord and Savior, that means you have to lay down your ways and let Him tell you what to do.

No, it's not easy. If it were, everyone would do it perfectly. But we fall short. In those times, we learn valuable lessons that are sometimes through our stubborn self-reliance. He is God. Trust Him in all things. You are not as smart, wise, knowledgeable or timeless as God.

Let His thoughts be enough for you knowing they are beyond the scope of your narrow reality. He sees into eternity when we can barely see into reality. His wisdom is ageless and ours is finite. Trust in His ways even if you don't understand. That is true faith and trust that leads to eternal life. Let Him stretch you as you trust Him to help you make a great day!
