Good morning! Confessing a trespass or sin to someone is a great way to bring healing. Telling the truth instead of hiding a wrong can do a world of good and restore your peace. But be careful who you tell about it.
Some people will misuse the information to further harm you and turn it into a gossip segment. This is why the verse gives us direction. Tell a person who is righteous in heart and lives uprightly. A mature Christian who will seek to heal and not to harm.
Use discernment and trust their prayers for you. A person praying in the will of God for you will be heard and help you to be healed, restored and renewed. If you find yourself in sin, go to Jesus and if you have trouble getting past it, find a righteous person to pray with you.
Learn also to be a righteous person for others in their time of need that you may build each other up, hold each other accountable and push each other to know Jesus more. Do this and you can learn to make every day a great day!
