Good morning! As we look at Holy Week this week, we see what Jesus took seriously and is important. Today, His focus was on prayer and order in the house of God. How we treat the temple is important and what we allow to go on there is a reflection of our heart.
Not only in the house of worship, but it starts with us individually. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. So, what we allow in our temple is important and will reflect the posture of our heart to the Lord. Do you have trouble praying? Does it really feel like a chore? Is it not enjoyable to be in communication and fellowship with Jesus?
If you said, "yes" to any or all of those questions, there may be a problem. Maybe it's too much phone time on social media or games. Maybe it's too much busyness that has trained your mind not to be still and quiet. Maybe it's an unhealed hurt from people, family, a church or church leader. Maybe it's an unanswered prayer or the unanswered questions of a situation. Whatever it is, it's time to clean out the temple.
It's not time to play around with things that don't belong or allow corruption, fear and doubt to take root in your heart and mind. It's time to get the thief out of your life and let your house become a house of prayer again. Ask God to light the fire on the altar of your heart again. Ask Him to help you fall in love with Him again. Set aside time every day to pray and to listen. Be in the word and make Him a priority. Be ready to receive Him this week and be reminded that Jesus loves you. Let Him help you to draw near to Him so you can always make a great day!
