Monday's Devotional - 10/12/2026

Good morning! In Hebrews 10, it starts wtih the superiority of Christ's sacrifice which is the theme of the book, that Jesus is better than everything. It then moves in the center section of ch. 10 to draw near and continue to draw near God and His people especially as we see the day of judgment approaching.
In verse 26, it shifts into warning of the dangers of falling away and willfully sinning. It leaves you in a place of judgment because it removes the sacrifice for you from your rebellion and defiance. There is an even greater judgment for this kind of sin seen in verse 29. Rejecting Jesus, trampling the Son of God underfoot, treating His blood as unholy, and insulting the Spirit of grace deserves a harsher punishment.
So, now we get to 30-31 as a final warning of God's judgment. It is quoting Deuteronomy 32:35-36 showing covenant people have a responsibility to be faithful and will be held accountable. Just remember, just because you believe in Jesus doesn't mean you have no obligation to follow Him to be saved. He committed Himself fully to the cross and He requires His followers to fully commit to Him. Live like you know the cost of your forgiveness as you make a great day!
