Friday's Devotional - 10/09/2026

Good morning! In the first line of this verse, it begs the question, "And not only what?" What is "that" referring too? The verses before it tell us we are justified by faith and given peace with God through Christ. We're given access to this justifying grace that saves us.

We stand in this grace and rejoice with hope in the glory of God. Now, besides that, we also glory in the hard stuff like tribulations knowing what it produces in us. It produces a greater measure of faith by refining it through the fire of trials. It develops the character of God in us so our lives glorify Him.

Tribulations are like tests of your faith. If you flunk the test, you have to retake the test. So, let the test teach you how to flourish in all circumstances. How? By letting it produce God's character in you. Let it produce perseverance in you. Then, it grows into character. Then, into hope.

And hope does not disappoint because of God's love He has poured out on us through Christ by the Holy Spirit. Allow this hope to give you strength as you walk through trials so you can glorify God as you walk through them. He is with you through it all. Glory in the Lord as you make a great day!
