Good morning! I don't think there is a more popularized and even commercialized verse than this in the Bible. Tim Tebow, a former college and NFL quarterback, wrote "John 3:16" on his eye black (the black paint players put under their eyes to minimize glare from the lights) during the 2009 BCS National Championship Game.
This led to 94 million searches on Google for the verse and its meaning shortly after the game. Exactly 3 years later, Tebow played in a playoff game for the Denver Broncos against the Pittsburgh Steelers. This game is often referred to as the "3:16 game" due to the remarkable statistical data mirroring the verse numbers by having 316 passing yards, 31.6 average yards per completion, 31 minutes and 6 seconds of time of possession for the Steelers, and a game rating peak of 31.6.
It marked a prophetic moment of recognition of how God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but everlasting life. When you believe this and make it your life's mission to embrace this love and let everyone you can know about it by whatever platform, big or small, to the glory of God, that God can do extraordinary things through ordinary acts of faith and obedience.
Do you believe? Are you waiting for some big vision to fall out of the sky to do something great for Him? Why not start with a simple act of love and obedience? It's often the small things from ordinary people that God does His most extraordinary work. Let His love in you inspire you to do simple acts of faith to show the world His love and watch how He will use you to do great things to make each day a great day!
