Friday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! Whatever the desire of your heart is will be reflected by what you truly love and value. If all your energy, time, thoughts, ambitions and investments are all in earthly things, you have temporary treasure that has a shelf life.

Eventually, everything wears out, breaks down, loses value, is used up or loses its usefulness. But when we desire the things of heaven, no one can steal it from you. It won't wear out or break down. It is eternal. Think about that...

How often do you spend yourself on temporal things? Worrying about it, working for it, guarding it like Fort Knox and focusing on it in unhealthy ways like an obsession. If we are honest, we are probably all guilty of doing that too much in one way or another.

Christ is the better thing and in fact, He is the best thing we could ever invest ourselves in. Put your treasure in Him and it will never lose value. He doesn't have diminishing returns over time. When you invest in Christ and let Him be the treasure of your life, your heart will follow and overflow with gratitude. Learn to treasure Jesus and you will always be able to make a great day!
