Friday's Verse of the Day Devotional

ree

Good morning! So, imagine that you are just going about your day and a large, imposing spiritual being shows up and calls you by name. There's a reason the angel told her not to be afraid. It would have been a frightening experience for sure.

But the angel needed her to not be afraid so she could clearly hear what the message was he had for her. It was imperative that she absorbed what was spoken to her because it would require a response. She needed to make a clear decision about what was being said to her.

He laid out what the will of the Lord was and that she was the one who would be impregnated with the Messiah. She was chosen to be the mother of Jesus. That's a lot to take in! This was an overwhelming experience and interaction. She knew it was a moment many women had waited on for so long.

To be the one chosen by God to fulfill the prophesies spoken about Jesus the Christ. Out of all the women, God chose her to be arguably the most important woman in history. To carry the Lord in her womb and be in charge of His care and upbringing so that He would fulfill all that God spoke about Him. The most amazing thing was her immediate obedience to say, "yes" to that call.

I don't know what God has called you to do, but I know that each of us have a specific calling on our lives to something for God. It may not be pulpit ministry or to be on a stage somewhere. But that calling is important to fulfill the work of the kingdom regardless of how big or small it may seem. Say yes without hesitation. Dedicate to what is placed on your heart. Let God give you all you need to carry it out so that every day you can make the most of every opportunity and make it a great day!
