Friday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! There is so much talk about identity right now. My first book from 2016 was about identity because I saw the trend heading towards a loss of true identity and wanting to have a sense of belonging. When you don't know who you are, you will be easily manipulated.

So many people are struggling with gender, race, sex and sexuality and doing harm to themselves and others while trying to find who they really are. You will never know who you really are until you know who God is because He created you. He formed you in your mother's womb and knit you together with a plan before you ever came to be.

When you follow Jesus and know Him, He reveals who you are in Him. You not only have a true identity that is beyond temporal, changeable things, but a purpose that gives you placement in this world. He has called you out of darkness and manipulation to know you have been formed on purpose with purpose.

Anything or anyone telling you to mar your body and permanently alter yourself to discover your true self are lying to you, manipulating you, hating you and trying to do the devil's work to destroy you. You are His own special people, a chosen race, a royal priesthood to serve in His holy kingdom. He loves you and made you purposefully. Let Him help you discover this so every day will be filled with purpose to make each day a great day!
