Good morning! It's Halloween and there is much controversy in the church about this. Should we celebrate it or not, participate or not, and much arguing is about this. I think the greatest tragedy about this is we fight with ourselves to the point of almost hating each other.
And, that is the most demonic thing we could do as the devil laughs at us. The words we say or type, the actions we take, the attitude behind what we say and do all matter. It points to what is in our hearts and our posture to the Lord. The Lord is our Redeemer. That cannot be forgotten just to prove a point.
I have firsthand experience about the dangers of participating in Halloween. In my ignorance, I thought it to be innocent, though I was not a follower of Christ. I didn't know about all the darkness that was done on that night by evil people. On Tuesday, October 31, 1995, I was standing in front of the Sebring Police Department for a costume contest when I felt very mischievous. I thought, "I like this and it feels powerful." It was then I felt something enter me and I became possessed by demons. I was that way for nearly three years and my life was not good during that time, until they were cast out of me and I met Jesus Christ.
I'm not here to condemn anyone for what they choose to do. I would just warn you to make sure you are careful about what fellowship you have with darkness and that all of what you think, say and do be glorifying to God and acceptable unto Him. Do not fight with other believers, but pray for one another. Pray up and do not be deceived into compromising who God has called us to be. Be light, walk in the light and pray for those who are in darkness as you make a great day!
