Friday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! In context, this is about having a pure faith and trust in the Lord. The first three verses talk about false prophets and dreamers who give false signs and wonders in order to get you to follow other gods. These are the people who lived under all the false gods of Egypt.

There are many false gods in our day as well. Many call them lifestyles, genders, political parties, ideologies and many other things. But there is one God and Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. We must not get caught in cultural rhetoric, fads and legalized sins. We must hold fast to Jesus Christ.

If we obey His voice and keep His commands, we will inherit eternal life. We must love, yes, but not at the expense of living holy lives. God is first holy, which separates Him from every other thing. He is also loving which gives us grace through Christ to get eternal life through faith in Him and repentance of sin.

You can either follow the crowd of follow the Christ. There is no such thing as pop-culture Christianity. Jesus said we would be hated by the world because of Him but to take courage because He has overcome the world. Keep His commands, stay attached to the vine and let His love keep you in all things as you make a great day!
