Friday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! Context is important. The passage surrounding this verse deals with denying selfish ambition, motives and actions. It is to love others as yourself as Jesus taught.

It's not about trying to be the ideal neighbor or doing whatever your neighbor thinks you should do with your yard. It means you should strive to have one mind in unity with Christ and for Him.

I encourage you to read verses 1-13 and see for yourself what is being conveyed. It is not about getting your way, doing what you want and using your freedom as an excuse to behave however you want.

It is about denying yourself, taking up your cross and following Jesus. Showing others what His love looks like living in you by loving them. His love for you should inspire you to love others the way Jesus has loved you. In this, others will know Him too and you will help each other to make a great day!
