Friday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! Through the truth, our eyes are opened and we see the truth of Christ. But once we believe, we have an obligation to follow. He is not just Savior, but also Lord. It won't be easy and I wish the suffering part wasn't included in the verse, but it is.

But suffering for Him is not a punishment. It is a privilege to be counted worthy to take part in His suffering for the sake of the gospel. No, it's not easy to go through trouble. It's not pleasant at the time. But, you can never grow stronger unless you face resistance.

Muscles grow stronger by facing resistance and being stretched. Your love and appreciation for Jesus will never grow if you never have new reasons to see His faithfulness, grace, strength and love. Though I was free in my sin to do what I wanted, it was an illusion of freedom because I was actually a slave to sin.

My freedom in Christ looks restricted to the unbeliever, but my life now leads to eternal life and I'm more free than I ever was doing my own thing. Let the love of Jesus help you to endure hardship so every day can be made into a great day!
