Friday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Writer's picture: Bret SanorBret Sanor

Good morning! Living according to the flesh in matters of offense means you look to get even. Living according to the Spirit in the same instance means you look to understand and forgive as Christ has done for you.

The flesh would tell everyone and gain allies. The Spirit would have you pray and go to the person alone to try to make amends. The heart of the Father is to bring reconciliation. That was the reason He sent Jesus to give us reconciliation when we sinned against Him.

God wants us to restore relationships, not break them. Remember this in the moment of pain, betrayal and offense. Jesus at the height of insult, betrayal and undeserved crucifixion chose to forgive. How much more so should we? Choose to forgive in the hope of restoration so that you gain back your brother or sister to align with the heart of the Father. In doing so, you will do what it takes to make a great day!
