Sunday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Writer's picture: Bret SanorBret Sanor

Good morning! Pity is a word we associate with weakness and often with a negative connotation. We define it as feeling sorry for someone but this is not what the word means here.

It means to love deeply and have tender affectionate for with compassion. That's a bit different than most ways the word is typically used and gives a better idea of what God is saying in this verse.

As a father deeply loves his children, so our heavenly Father deeply loves those who fear Him. Read the verse in the proper definition and it changes the whole outlook. What a difference! Love the Lord in reverent fear and let Him lavish you with His deep loving affection as you make a great day!
