Good morning! If anyone had the right to complain and dispute about something, it was Jesus. He was perfect in every way and yet was treated like a capital criminal sentenced to the most horrific death ever invented.
Yet, despite all of this, Jesus resisted the temptation to act out of selfishness. He laid down His right to be right so that through His death, we could be made right before God. There's a reason it's called temptation. It is enticing to engage in the activity presented.
When you love God, you do not want to give in because love doesn't hurt those who are loved. God doesn't tempt us, but He allows there to be trials so our faith can be purified and our character be refined. He gives us an escape so we don't have to succumb to the temptations of the enemy.
Too often this verse is said that God never gives us more than we can handle, which is not what it says. Jesus was tempted in every way we are, yet was without sin. He was so tempted to deny the cross that He sweat drops of blood in struggling with surrendering His will to the Father's will. He overcame and that means we can be overcomers. He gave us victory so we don't have to give into temptation. Remember this, lean on Jesus and let Him help you escape temptation and make a great day!
