Good morning! In John's gospel 3:16 tells us God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him would not perish, but have eternal life. In His first epistle 3:16 reminds us of this love and commands us to do likewise.
By doing so, we prove we have received the love of God into our hearts. We have received the gospel message when we put it into practice. Jesus laid down His life for us and we should be willing to lay ours down that we might live for Him and with Him in eternity.
Sometimes, laying down our life means buying someone a coffee, taking time to have a conversation with a stranger or helping someone who needs a hand. It can mean a sleepless night praying for a sick friend or taking a family member to the doctor.
It doesn't always mean physically dying, but it can. It means whatever is needed and called on us to do, we are willing to do it out of love for God and His people. Have you loved today? Find a way to lay yourself down for others today to show them God's love as you make a great day!
