Saturday's Devotional - 10/17/2026

Good morning! The Sermon on the Mount is arguably Jesus' most well-known and greatest sermon He ever preached. He covered a lot of ground and this is near the beginning of it. He warned many times throughout His ministry about persecution.

He said it would be there if you followed Him and lived in the truth. He also gave us instructions for how to handle it. First, understand suffering for the gospel is a blessing. It may not always feel that way, but our attitude needs to reflect the perspective of heaven and not our earthly desire to retaliate.

Secondly, when we have the right attitude about being persecuted, we can have the joy of Lord as our strength. We can rejoice and be exceedingly glad knowing the suffering is not for nothing. There is a great reward in heaven for enduring the hostility of the world for the sake of Christ. Keep the right perspective and learn to rejoice always in all things as you make a great day!
