Good morning! I remember as a kid being confused about what I had been taught about the birth of Jesus. It was like all these people came the moment He was born within moments of His birth. I never understood that, and for good reason, because it didn't happen that way.
It is told that way to fit the story into a short, condensed time to get the point across, but the fact is it took time; a lot of time. By the time they fled away from Herod's rule to kill all babies of toddler age, Jesus was upwards of two years old.
There was a lot of things that happened that we only get a snapshot of. If the same commitment was asked of most people today in the same conditions they had then, I wonder how many would actually say "yes" to the calling?
Thank God we live in the day we do, but thank God even more for those who lived then who were solely committed to make sure God's will and plan was fulfilled at whatever cost. Thank God today and think on these things as you make a great day!
