Good morning! This verse was talking to the church about how to be Godly in conversing with others. We have two ears and one mouth for a reason. We should listen more and speak less.
It doesn't mean we should have a lot to say, but it means we should listen with the intent to understand and not just enough to think up a response as soon as we get the chance. Be thoughtful and prayerful about your words and responses.
We should carefully listen to the words of others so we understand their problem or see their point of view. We also should be gentle and control our emotions especially if it is a viewpoint we don't agree with. Be quick to listen, slow to respond, thoughtful and careful with our words and not easily angered even when someone is goading us to lose our temper. Be Godly in your behavior and it will witness volumes. Make a great day!
